Friday Flash Fiction: Get Knitted

As discussed yesterday, this week's story comes fresh from the 1950s:

Get Knitted
By Gareth D Jones

This story now appears in the Illuminations anthology.

This story has what I like to refer to as the "open ended ending." I've written a couple of stories with this kind of ending and it's not easy to pull off. This ending is chilling; because whatever she decides to do the reader senses her husband is not going to like it.

Very Phildickian; dark humour with a period flavour. Nice one.

This made me smile. It's a bit like Falling Down with knitting needles. A nice spin on 50s attitudes.

As an avid knitter who could sympathise with the wife's feeling , I really enjoyed this story. Sandi E
