Graphic Novel Review: The Circle by Cixin Liu

Adapted into graphic novel format by Xavier Besse, Cixin Liu’s The Circle is unusual among this series of adaptations and, from what I’ve read of his other short stories, in that it is set wholly back in history and does not give the impression of being a Science Fiction story.

Hungarian Mole Rats

One of my favourite stories, The Righteous Indignation of the Naked Mole Rat, has been accepted by Hungarian magazine Galaktika.

This will be my ninth story in this magazine, and the fifth language for this story.

Yr Adda Olaf

Issue #5 of bilingual magazine Gwyllion is out now, with a reprint of the Welsh translation of my very short story The Last Adam. This story has also been published in English and Spanish.

Graphic Novel Review: The Devourer by Cixin Liu

One of the recurring themes in Cixin Liu’s short stories is the arrival of an enormous alien artefact in the skies of Earth. Whether this is good or bad news depends on the story but, despite the same trope being used several times, I have always been surprised at what happens next in any given story.

 Arabic is the fifty-sixth language that The Gondolier has been translated into!

 A reprint of my story Alleged Shakespeare Play May Prove Time Travel Possible is out today in the anthology Of Poets, Spies and Unearthliness from Rogue Planet Press.

It's always great to find the perfect anthology for a story.

Escapades in Catalan

 My short story Escapades in Time has been accepted by Catalan magazine Catarsi, which I'm very pleased about, having last appeared in issue #1 back in 2009.

This story has previously been published in English, Galician and Spanish.

The A to Z of First Contact

 My new flash fiction story The A to Z of First Contact is out now in Abyss & Apex magazine. It's my second story there, after The Probable Tradesman several years back. This is another non-standard format story in a new format I've not tried before.
