X Factory
By Gareth D Jones

Thi story will now be appearing in Labyrinth Inhabitant Magazine

This week I move a significant step closer to fulfilling my ambition of having a story title beginning with each letter of the alphabet...

Nice ironic twist at the end there - wonder how long it'll take Barnaby to grow bored with his new role?

I'm strangely reminded of the Slurm Party Worm from Futurama!

The light tone belies the dark subject matter. Me likes it.

Noticed (how could I not?) that you're doing interesting things with flash fiction. As happens, I belong to a group of writers that post in The Daily Cabal, a daily microfiction blog. I'd hate to self-pimp on your blog, so I'll wait until you give me the go-ahead before posting the link. I'd hate for you to think I was spamming. Just thought that you should know, you have writing brethren out there, doing something similar.

I don't think the workers will give Barnaby much sympathy... and what will he sing? Maybe he only knows one song...
