Book Review: By Force Alone by Lavie Tidhar

In recent years there were a couple of films that purported to tell the more historically accurate stories behind such legendary figures as King Arthur and Robin Hood. For those who like a Robin Hood or King Arthur story, they were a bit of a disappointment. In By Force Alone, Lavie Tidhar retells the legend of King Arthur in a completely different way.

Book Review: Unholy Land by Lavie Tidhar

Lavie Tidhar creates wonderfully vivid worlds in his books. Worlds where the strange and bizarre intertwine with the mundane, where history is slightly different and where Jewish culture and language permeate the tale. In Unholy Land, the Jews have a homeland in East Africa known as Palestina and the horrors of the holocaust did not come to pass.

Book Review: Central Station by Lavie Tidhar

I read several of Lavie Tidhar’s ‘Central Station’ stories when they appeared in ‘Interzone’ magazine in recent years. They were all interlinked, both by the location and by some of the characters, but chiefly by the richly imagined world that revolves around the edifice of Central Station.
