The Man from Chateaulin

The annual summer holiday collaborative story writing projects with Alex and Haydn has produced such anarchic stories as A Detective Inspector, a Week-Old Haddock and the Means to Destroy Paris and The Good Ship Munders.

The earliest of these collaborations, and probably the most bonkers, was The Man from Chateaulin, written while on holiday near Chateaulin in France. I decided to give Wattpad a go and I've published it as a serial there. If you like Inspector Clouseau, this might be for you.

You can read it here

A Detective Inspector, a Week-Old Haddock and the Means to Destroy Paris

The comedy spy-fi story A Detective Inspector, a Week-Old Haddock and the Means to Destroy Paris that I co-wrote with Alex and Haydn is out now on the Tall Tale TV podcast.

This is the second of our joint stories to be published, after last year's The Good Ship Munders.

Tall Tale TV has previously published Alex's Unveventful Day of the Bodger; a complillation of three flash fiction stories that included Alex's Brothers in Qualms, Haydn's The Final Battle is But a Game and my own Escapades in Time; and my short stories Observers and The Righteous Indignation of the Naked Mole Rat.

The Good Ship Munders Sets Sail

The Good Ship Munders, a collaborative story conceived by Alex and hijacked by Haydn and myself, is now out at Aphelion.

Several of my earliest stories were published at Aphelion and it's very nice to be back there.

The Good Ship Munders

The space opera novelette The Good Ship Munders that I co-wrote with Alex and Haydn has been accepted by Aphelion, the home of several of my earliest stories. It won't be appearing there till the end of the year, but I'm looking forward to this fun story seeing the light of day.

The Ballad of Robinson Clyde

Alex's latest story The Ballad of Robinson Clyde is out now at Emerging Worlds. Its a lyrical kind of a story that put me in mind of J.G. Ballard.

The Ballad of Robinson Clyde

By complete coincidence, as neither of us knew we'd submitted a story to the same market, my eldest son Alex has also had a story accepted by Emerging Worlds. His lyrical tale The Ballad of Robinson Clyde will be appearing there too in the near future.

Tall Tale TV

Today's episdoe of podcast Tall Tale TV includes 3 stories, by myself and my two eldest boys Alex and Haydn!

Brothers in Qualms by Alex

The Final Battle is But a Game by Haydn

Escapades in Time by me.

Escapades in Time is a dialogue-only story, and the narration by Chris Herron carries it off brilliantly, making it sound even better than when I wrote it!

Familiy Podcasting Triptych

Tall Tale TV will be podcasting an episode containing three stories, one each by myself, and my two sons Alex and Haydn!

Alex pitched the idea when the editor said his story was too short to podcast by itself. I've not had many stories podcast, so I'm rather pleased and it will be particularly exciting to hava e whole family podcast to ourselves!

Spaceports and Spidersilk Reviewed

The April 2017 edition of Spaceports and Spidersilk which contains Alex's story The Gravel Beneath Pounding Feet, has been reviewed in SF Crowsnest. Of Alex's story the reviewer writes:

The author is young, according to the bio, but it’s well-crafted and he probably has a future in the business.

It's only his second published story, so this is a really great review.
