Shakespearian Cover

The cover of the anthology Of Poets, Spies and the Unearthliness – Otherworldly Tales in the Times of Shakespeare and Marlowe has been revealed, with the release date hopefully to be some time in October.

The book will include a reprint of my story Alleged Shakespeare Play May Prove Time Travel Possible, which was first published last year in Brief Candle magazine.

 

The Sound of Death at IGMS

My 6300 word alien murder mystery is now on line at IGMS with absolutely awesome artwork by Scott Altmann.

This is my 7th pro sale and a story I'm really proud of.

Steampunk Cover Kudos

Charles Harbour, the artist behind the fabulous cover of The Immersion Book of Steampunk has more good news this week:

The Immersion Book of SteamPunk  cover has been accepted for inclusion in this year’s Spectrum: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art Book no.19

Pretty pleased as it’s pretty stiff competition to get in, with judges including Art directors from Blizzard, Wizards of the Coast and Disney.

If you look closely you can spot the cover at about 35 sec’s in, apparently this room was filled and cleared 3 times.

Immersion Steampunk Imminent

This weekend you'll be able to get your hands on The Immersion Book of Steampunk at FantasyCon in Brighton. Look out for the Immersion Press stall in the dealer hall.

Sea Monster from the Murky Depths

The cover of Murky Depths #15 is up on their website, and looks pretty awesome. My name has made the cover too, along with some rather more well known authors.

Post-Apocalyptic Comic

The artwork for my 1 page post-apocalyptic comic Frozen has been completed by Mick Trimble, and it looks awesome. It's pretty amazing seeing my first script brough to life anyway, but Mick has brilliantly captured the mood and feel of the piece just the way I imagined. It's also illustrated in the style I would have drawn it, if I could draw.

I can't wait to see it in print in Murky Depths #15.

Magazine Review: Interzone #227

Last year all of the Interzone covers were by a single artist and the same is true this year. The added twist this time is that all of Warwick Fraser-Combs' pictures can be combined into one larger piece at the end of the year. Typically, now I have the second issue of the year I can’t find the previous magazine to put the two together. Ah well, inside to the fiction then.

Comic Art

I've found an artist to work on with my new 2-page comic script. He's working on the rough sketches as we speak, so I should get my first glimpse next week. It's a brilliant feeling to know your ideas are being brought to life this way. :o)
