Eurocon Reprint

A reprint of the original English version of Aurochs, Cave Bears and Other Charismatic Megafauna is out now in the English language Eurocon special edition of Slovenian magazine Supernova. 

This is my fourth appearance in Supernova and the fourth appearance for this story.

Slovenian Anomalies

Issue 18 of  Slovenian magazine Supernova is now out, and includes the translation of my fourth Yorick story Canines, Reptiles and Other Biological Anomalies. 

This is the third language for this story and my fourth story in Slovenian.

Slovenian Canines

 A day after my 2nd Yorick story was accepted by a Romanian magazine, my 4th Yorick story has been accepted by Supernova magazine to be published in Slovenian. No confirmed date yet, but some time later this year I guess. 

Aurochs, Cave Bears and Other Slovenian Megafauna

 The Slovenian translation of my third Yorick story Aurochs, Cave Bears and Other Charismatic Megafauna is now out in issue #16 of Supernova magazine. 

This is the third language for this story and my third story in Slovenian.

Slovenian Megafauna

 It's been a busy week for translations! The third of my Yorick stories, Aurochs, Cave Bears and Other Charismatic Megafauna, has been accepted by Slovenian magazine Supernova, to be published next spring. 

Haggis, Rhino and Other Slovenian Wildlife

 The Slovenian translation of my short story Haggis, Rhino and Other Unexpected Wildlife is now out in issue #10 of Supernova magazine.

This is my second story in Slovenian, following The Gondolier in 2015, and the second language for this story after Hungarian.

Squirrels, Foxes and Other Slovenian Specimens

In rapid succession, my story Squirrels, Foxes and Other Fine Specimens has been accepted a third time, by Slovenian magazine Supernova. It has been scheduled for the spring 2020 issue.

This will be my second story in Slovenian, following on from The Gondolier in 2015.

Filling Up My Bookshelf

My contributor copy of Slovenian magazine Jashubeg en Jered arrived, which includes my story The Gondolier. It's the first print magazine I've received for a while, and I realised there's barely any room to squeeze it onto the shelf with my other magazines.

Language Number 27

I've had a story accepted by Slovenian magazine Jashubeg en Jered. Not sure when it will be published yet - I'll keep you posted. This will be my 27th language!

The Gondolier in Slovenian

Although the Slovenian translation of The Gondolier has been accepted by the Prizma SF society for publicaiton in their newsletter, I'm not sure if or when that will happen, so here it is for your enjoyment.

Gondoljer

Črni kljun moje gondole je enakomerno rezal mirno vodo kanala. Sloka ladjica mi je zvesto služila, saj je že vrsto let pod vodečimi rokami generacij mojih prednikov prevažala potnike po vodnih poteh mesta.

Sonce je zahajalo nad starodavnim mestom, da se je voda spremenila v tintast trak, položen med elegantne stavbe iz peščenjaka. Globoko sem vdihaval hladno večerno sapo.

Je mar na vsem svetu kaj lepšega od tega fantastičnega mesta kanalov? Ko se je barka počasi bližala privezu, sem se za trenutek z zadovoljstvom zazrl v temneče nebo Marsa.

Recent Languages

I've recently received translations of The Gondolier in Slovenian, Ukrainian and Romansch. The latter two are currently looking for a home.

The French translation was rejected by Canadian magazine Solaris as they don't publsih stories that short. They did like the story though and editor Joel Champetier said that the door is open if I'd like to submit again. I impressed myself by corresponding in French. :o)

New Gondolier Acceptance

The Slovenian translation of The Gondolier has been accepted by the Prizma SF Society for publication in their newsletter Infinity. No confirmed date for this yet as they have had some publication problems recently. This is the 29th langauge for The Gondolier and the 11th language in which it will be published.
