Romeo and the Greek Robots

The Greek translation of my short story Romeo and the Robots is out today in issue #49 of Ef-Zin magazine. 

This is the fifth language for this story, my ninth in Ef-Zin magazine and my twelfth in Greek altogether.

Greek Shakespeare

 I'm very pleased that my short story Romeo and the Robots has been accepted by Greek magazine Ef-Zin. This will be my ninth story to have appeared in that magazine, and my twelfth in Greek altogether. It should be in the next issue due out in July.

The Greek Week of Quarantine

 The Greek translation of The Second Week of Quarantine is out today in issue #48 of Ef-Zin magazine. 

This is the sixth language for this story, my eighth story in Ef-Zin and my eleventh story in Greek altogether. 

Greek Quarantine

 My short story The Second Week of Quarantine, recently published at Black Cat Weekly, has been accepted by Greek magazine Ef-Zin to be published in the January issue - my first confirmed story for 2026. This will be my eighth story in that magazine, and my eleventh in Greek altogether.

Greek Observations

My first publication of the year is here! The Greek translation of my short story Observers appears in issue #46 of Ef-Zin magazine, the 4th language for this story. 

It's my 7th appearance in this magazine, and my 10th story in Greek altogether.

A Response in Greek

The Greek translation of my story In Response to Your Reader is out today in issue #43 of Ef-Zin magazine.

This is the second language and third appearance for this story, my fifth story in Ef-Zin magazine and my eighth story in Greek.

Greek Response

 My short story In Response to Your Reader, first published last year in Nature magazine, has been accepted by Greek magazine Ef-Zin, to be published later this year. This will be the first language other than English for this story. I shall now send it off to some other international markets...

Five Greek Ways

The Greek translation of my short story Five Ways to Accidentally Save the Earth from Alien Conquest is out now in issue #41 of Ef-Zin magazine. This is the fourth language for this story after English, Galician and Romanian.

It's also my fourth appearance in Ef-Zin.

Five Ways to Greece

 After my new story Five Ways to Accidentally Save the Earth from Alien Conquest was published in ParSec magazine in December and then the Galician translation appeared in Nova Fantasia in January, it has now also been accepted by Greek magazine Ef-Zin and will appear in the next issue in July.

Englebert in Greece

 First day of the year and first story of the year: the Greek translation of Englebert appears today in issue #40 of Ef-Zin magazine. I last appeared in this magazine in issue #15 in 2009.

This is my 6th story in Greek and is the fifth language for Englebert, after English, Hungarian, Vietnamese and Romanian.

The Camel Goes to Greece

 I'm very pleased to say that my camel-related story Englebert has been accepted by Greek magazine Ef-Zin, who previously published two of my stories several years back. It will appear some time this winter. 

This will be my sixth story in Greek, and the fifth language for Englebert.

Book review: Nova Hellas: Stories from Future Greece edited by Francesca T Barbini & Francesco Verso

The 2017 anthology Stories From Future Athens has been translated into English and a couple of additional stories added for the anthology Nova Hellas: Stories From Future Greece from Scottish small press Luna Press, edited by two Italian editors, Francesca T Barbini and Francesco Verso.

Greek Anniversary

Ten years ago this month the second half of my story Artefact Nouveau was published in Greek magazine Universe Pathways, following part 1 that had been published in the previous issue. This was my second translated story and the first published in Greek.


I've now had 5 stories published in Greek, making this making this my 3rd most published language after English and Spanish:

Ten Years Ago

Ten years ago, in 2006, I'd just had several landmarks in my early career as an author:


April 2006 saw my tenth publication, and my first story to appear in print: A Word in the Right Place in Scifantastic #4


In June 2006 The Grey Void was published in Aphelion #102. This was my first sequel, a follow up to The Grey Hole published in Aphelion the previous year.


Also in June, Artefact Nouveau was published in the English edition of Greek magazine Universe Pathways. This was my first reprint in a magazine other than the original, Fluctuations having been reprinted by Bewildering Stories the previous year.

Inside Every Successfull Greek

I discovered today that my story Inside Every Successfull Man was published last june in issue #512 of 9, the weekly SF / comics supplement of Free Press, the Greek national newspaper. This is the fifth appearance for this story, following:

Italian in Intercom SF

Unlike a few other translations, where I made the discovery by chance, tis time I was contacted by the publishers, who want to pay me. :o)

The Gondolier in Greek

My contributor copy of issue #15 of Greek small-press magazine Ef-Zin has arrived. It includes the translation of The Gondolier. There's a great illustration to go with it and the cover art is based on the story too.

The Gondolier has now been published in English, Spanish, Romanian, Hindi and Greek. Plus I've posted on this sites translations in Irish, Scottish Gaelic, Scots, Manx, Breton, Latin and Basque. Cornish and Welsh translations will published elsewhere later this year. I have translations in French, Dutch, Hebrew, Russian and Swedish still looking for homes.
